Electrical Board of Examiners & Supervisors
The Electrical Board of Examiners & Supervisors consists of five (5) members, all of whom are residents of the County. Members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Washington County. These members include one individual who represents an electric public utility company doing business in Washington County, two individuals that are duly licensed master electricians in Washington County, one individual service as a president or chief of a Washington County volunteer fire company and one individual appointed from the public at large.
The Board of Examiners & Supervisors adopts rules and regulations for the examinations of master electricians and for the placement, installation, and operation of electrical wires, appliances, apparatus or construction in, upon and about buildings in Washington County. The Board reviews license applications, selects the examination questions and prepares the exam for all classes of licenses and conducts the examinations four times per year. The Board may revoke or suspend, for proper cause, any license or license renewal after a full hearing of all parties in interest.
The Board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the Washington County Annex Building located at 80 W Baltimore Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740. Electrical Examination Information
Electrical examinations are given each year in March, June, September and December. Electrical License Examination Application must be completed and received by the Dept. of Permits & Inspections, on or before the first Monday of each month prior to the month of the specified examination date for review and approval by the Board of Examiners & Supervisors.

PLEASE NOTE: Incomplete applications may be rejected by the Board of Examiners & Supervisors.
Testing begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Department of Permits & Inspections, Washington County Annex Building, 80 W. Baltimore Street, Hagerstown, Maryland.
