Responsibilities:
The Board is composed of five members each
serving a term of four years. The members are appointed by the Governor,
with the advice and consent of the State Senate, from lists proposed by the
County Central Committees of the two major political parties.
The Board of Elections is responsible for the planning and supervision of all County, State and Federal Elections held in Washington County. Elections are administered using the Maryland Constitution, Registration and Election Laws of Maryland and Title 33 of the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR).
Meetings:
The Board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 2:00 PM. The meetings are held at 35 W. Washington Street, Room 101, Hagerstown, MD.
